String Theory is almost mathematically complete and we are close to finding the hard evidence to support it. It is very close to unifying quantum theory and relativity and being the theory of everything. Sean Carroll explains this extremely well. In other articles he explains like Hawking why this theory eliminates the concept of supernaturalism and God. Something to follow up on after reading this.
